Parker Brothers, the maker of Monopoly, and Google, the defacto King of the Internet, have teamed up to create a version of Monopoly that will be played on a global scale. This version of the game will be played worldwide and allow you to purchase properties utilizing google maps.
There is also a contest being held that allows users to design their own buildings and submit them for inclusing into the game. If you are creative you may wish to give that a try as there are some prizes being offered for those who win, not to mention how cool for your design to be featured for players around the world.
So the game is minutes from going live. If you want to be among the first to set up an account there or start
