Friesan Fire successfully faced a dozen challengers in Saturday's $200,000 Risen Star Stakes at the Fair Grounds. (The Risen Star is the final local prep race for the Louisiana Derby on March 14.) Coming off a striking win in the Lecomte Stakes, Friesan Fire appeared to be the one to beat. Friesan Fire is owned by Rick Porter's Fox Hill Farm and Vinery Stables, and trained by Larry Jones.
