The market in Lethbridge Alberta continues to be one of the bright spots on the global landscape.  In general, the entire Alberta economy is still extremely strong and the influx of people coming in search of jobs and housing continues month after month.  With the rising oil prices, there will be a direct relation to rising incomes of many businesses and individuals in Alberta.

 

Lethbidge is a bit more diverse than the rest of the Province.  The economy here benefits from oil production to the east, but also from agriculture which has also seen signs of hope as commodity prices continue to rise.  Add to that, the fact that Lethbridge is home to a couple of Federal Government reseach institutes, two large post secondary educational institutions, and a growing manufacturing and service industry.

 

All of this bodes well for the Lethbridge real estate market.  While our prices are still a bit off from the high point of a couple years prior, sales are still happening on a daily basis and investors are still searching for property.  An interesting trend lately is that we are seeing buyers coming from other places, who are just now recognizing the opportunity and stability of investing in real estate in Lethbridge and area.  I expect this trend will continue as more people realize just how safe and stable this region is.
